Properly Equipping Your RV with a Water Filtration System

RV Water Filters

Each summer, campgrounds all over North America are populated by vacationers who all share one thing in common: a love of the great outdoors. The prospect of spending your well-deserved holidays in the fresh air is an appealing one, but make sure that your trip is not cut short by illness from unsafe drinking water.

RV water filtersBeware what you drink
Quite often in campgrounds well water is the sole provider of water. Unfortunately, because wells use groundwater the water is susceptible to being contaminated. The groundwater can be easily polluted from natural minerals, fertilizers, pesticides or leaking septic tanks. Once the groundwater has been tainted any number of pollutants may begin to grow. The following is a list of some of the most common contaminants:

Bacteria: there are any number of bacteria found in water including: salmonella, and e coli. The side effects from drinking water contaminated with bacteria differ, but you may experience, diarrhea, stomach pain and vomiting or in worst cases, extreme pain and dehydration, necessitating hospitalization.

Chemicals: a variety of chemicals can easily make water unsafe to drink. Unless you test your water or you have a portable water filtration system you may not know that you are drinking chemicals like, copper, lead and mercury. Depending on what chemical has tainted your water you may experience, diarrhea, lung irritation, skin rash, vomiting, and weight loss. In extreme cases you may even suffer kidney or liver damage or even death.

Portable water filtration systems will keep you in good health
An RV water filter is your best defense against contaminated water! Using reverse osmosis and/or ultraviolet light, our RV water filters are able to effectively purify your water. Our portable water filtration systems come in a variety of models that are all made specifically for small to medium sized spaces. Each model has a different daily water output capacity. An RV water filter can be easily hooked up to your sink faucet and requires little maintenance.
