Aeration/Filtration Iron Removal Systems
This Iron Remover uses atmospheric air to oxidize the iron and sulfur (hydrogen sulfide) in your water and then removes it in a filter bed designed to capture the oxidized material. Its operation is completely chemical-free. It is a complete system for iron removal that is intended for use on private wells that contain up to 10 ppm iron and 4 ppm sulfur. For best results, water pH should be between 6.5 and 10.0.
The first operation is the injection of air into the water line by the Clack valve, a unique valve with a built-in, adjustable venturi. The injected air then oxidizes the soluble iron and sulfur in the raw water as it passes through a mixing and air release tank. The fine particles of oxidized iron and sulfur are then filtered out of the water in the filter tank by a bed of specially formulated media. This media is periodically backwashed to waste by the automatic filter valve attached to the top of the tank. The backwashing process rinses the precipitates that have been collected in the bed to your drain line.
