Our high quality Activated Carbon Water Filters remove chemicals, chlorine, tastes and odors from your water supply. Our Catalytic Carbon filters will reduce Hydrogen Sulfide as well.
Superior Quality Granular Activated Carbon
Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) is universally recognized
and widely used as an effective adsorbent for a wide variety of organic
contaminants, such as herbicides, pesticides, industrial chemicals, chlorine and
trihalomethanes (THMs). Carbon is extremely porous and provides a large surface
area for contaminants to collect. It also removes odors, color and tastes. These filters will also trap sediment and particulate matter; however they are not designed primarily for that use. If sediment problems exist, a multimedia or FilterAg sediment filter should be installed ahead of the carbon filter.
Catalytic Carbon retains all of the adsorptive properties of conventional activated carbon, but it combines them with the ability to promote or catalyze chemical reactions. During the treatment process, catalytic carbon first adsorbs sulfides onto the carbon surface. Then, in the presence of dissolved oxygen, it oxidizes the sulfides and converts them to nonobjectionable compounds. Our catalytic carbon filters are specially formulated for hydrogen sulfide reduction.
FILTRATION CAPACITIES:
Chlorine — One cubic foot of activated carbon will treat one million gallons of water at a chlorine level of one part per million.
Taste & Odor — 0.2 pounds of carbon will treat 1000 gallons of water.
